"CHA's vision, simply stated, is to create a vibrant industry with an exciting image, an expanding customer base and successful members. The goal is to stimulate the sales growth of the craft and hobby industry worldwide by creating consumer demand, helping members succeed and leading the industry."
I have been attending trade shows since I was in college-starting with Toy Fair. I then started going to ABA shows- American Booksellers Association. These are specifically for the publishing industry.
As soon as I started working in the craft field producing "How-to" television and designing for the manufactures, I started attending CHA.
The people who have booths are manufactures and publishers who bring all their great products and books to showcase.
Buyers from retail stores come and place orders to stock their shelves for you, the crafters of the world, to make all your great creations. Professional designers like myself also attend to make contacts with manufactures. Manufacturers hire designers to work with their product to showcase some of the potential designs a crafter might use the product for.
Make and Takes are a way that the buyers can "test drive" new techniques, tools or supplies.
Just thought you might want to know the full scoop on what CHA is!
