A while back I did a post about L.K. Ludwig's great book:
Mixed-Media Nature Journals
New Techniques for Exploring Nature, Life, and Memories
and I posted this picture of a slice of wood and some acorns I had collected.
I had have been thinking and mulling over what to do with these elements. Then I saw this post over at Design Sponge.
And it came to me!
I will make a hanging "altered art/craft element keeper"
I stamped a beaver on the the wood, I never pass up an opportunity for irony, and the letter "Y"-because I collect "Y's".
And then I hammered in a bunch of nails and glued a ribbon on the back to hang it.
Why shouldn't the storage for our Art Journaling elements not be as artistic as our journals?
If you were on our Email newsletter last month you got a free project tutorial from L.K. Ludwig's latest book:
True Vision:
Authentic Art Journaling
**Featuring the artwork of over 25 leading artists**
so be sure to sign up for the newsletter and check back here daily for lots of crafty projects, tips, and patterns from great craft books from the Quayside Publishing Group, as well as special offers, contests and calls for art that are sure to keep your creative juices flowing!
And pop over to L.K. Ludwig's blog for some more of her amazingness!!!
P.S. Is it freakish that I also have a chunk of wood that is identical to the chunk in photo of the clock except for the brick paint job? Again I saved it because I thought it was cool on it's own, but not really doing anything... yet!

Just so you know, there are no wood cookies or wood crafts in Mixed Media Nature Journals. It is a journaling book.

That was a cool and creative idea and I am glad it inspired you to produce your own work of art!
