Oh so pretty!
You can! Come to Booth 2144 at CHA!
This is what Tracie wrote about what you will be in for:
"Make and Take - 3D Painted Butterfly Greeting Card....the wings of the Butterfly are dimensional and lift away from the card. Take a plain greeting card and use paper and/or fabric scraps to make a small collage to decorate the front. Next copy a picture of a butterfly on copy paper. The butterfly image should be about 2" wide x 1 1/2" high. Trace in pencil, the shape of the butterfly on a small piece of white muslin fabric by laying the fabric over the image on paper. Use acrylic craft paint and a paint brush to paint the wings of the butterfly that you traced on fabric. Once the paint has dried you can cut the butterfly out. Apply Fabric Stiffener to the back of the painted fabric butterfly. Place the stiff painted butterfly on top of the collage and stitch in place. Write your personal message inside the card."
I can't wait to make this beautiful card with her!
But want to make something today? Try this:
Zippy zipper jewelry!
Aren't these zipper necklaces so cool!!! They are designed by Vanessa Yanow and are just one of the oh so fab designs included in one of my absolute favorite books of inspiration:
This is what I came up with to recycle a bit of garment hardware into jewelry:
I didn't have a full zipper but I did have the slider part.
All I had to do was pinch the slider a bit to secure it to a ball chain necklace and there it was!
Question of the day:Have you used garment hardware in something other than clothes?
If so tell us about it!
And as a thanks for sharing you are entered to win a free book of the week!
