Back in this post about CHA crafting, I was holding up a little mixed media and polymer clay Steampunk style heart that I made under the wonderful tutelage of Christi Friesen, author of Polymer Clay and Mixed Media—Together at Last.
I promised you a close-up when I baked it. Well....voila! Here it is, all incorporated into a cool Steampunk style heart necklace just in time for Valentine's Day!
How I made the necklace:
I used a McGilll wing punch to make my wings out of a recycled soda can. I used a tiny stylist to give the wings a "wing" texture.
All that was left to do was poke some holes in the wings and link my heart and wings to a Tim Holtz sprocket.

Oh gosh that is so awesome! I love the addition of the pop can wings! I used to make flowers from Coke cans that I called Pop-ies. You have inspired me to revisit that idea and try to figure out some new ideas using pop cans and polymer clay. Great necklace! I just love it!

A sign of the times is I'm short of money, been laid off since last may so I made cards for my grandkids and sent them in the mail. My youngest said that he never gets any mail so that was my gift to him.

Nice post, steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of such technology as dirigibles; these frequently are presented in an idealized light.

Last year, I designed and tatted a heart. This year, Valentine's Day coincided with Chinese New Year, so it was too busy to do anything special for Valentine's Day.
