First up, co-author Shelby Allaho shared a variation of a project from her book, Crocheting Clothes Kids Love: 28 Fun-to-Wear Projects, where she used a scarf patttern to make a knit kerchief for her daughter.
Also, if you will be at the Knit and Crochet show in Manchester, NH on July 26th, please look for Ellen Gormley and Shelby Allaho. They will be signing copies of Crocheting Clothes Kids Love: 28 Fun-to-Wear Projects at 1:30 in the Elegant Ewe booth!
And if crafting is your thing:
The fabulous Courtney Cerruti, author of Washi Tape: 101+ Ideas for Paper Crafts, Book Arts, Fashion, Decorating, Entertaining, and Party Fun! and Playing with Image Transfers: Exploring Creative Imagery for Use in Art, Mixed Media, and Design, is teaching all over the place! She has posted her workshop schedule on her website and on her Facebook, so pop on over to see if she will be in your area!
Congrats go out to Jessibeth V. of JBLM, WA! She won our sewing book and goodie giveaway that had over 1,100 entries!
Finally, I have a quick tip for all you quilters out there from The Quilter's Palette by Katy Denny.
Pastels hang so well together as a group of colors that you could bring in many different pastel solids to this palette for a really successful quilt design. If you don't want to use white for tonal contrast, what about a midtone of one of your pastel colors, such as Mediterranean blue, or even a cool red?
