The news from Margaret Hubert after she attended the annual CGOA (Crochet Guild of America) and TKGA (Knitting Guild Association) conferences:
Margaret taught four classes there: Crochet Intermeshing,
Freeform Knit and Crochet Combinations, Crochet Embellishment, and
Beyond Scarves. Her class on Freeform completely sold out early in the
registration schedule.
Margaret's winning jacket!
As is her usual style, Margaret designed a new freeform jacket and modeled it for the runway show at the conference. She won 1st place in the contest sponsored by the CGOA. Right after the show, a magazine editor bought the pattern from her.
Go Margaret!!!!
(Incidentally-I am such a huge fan of freeform!)
In addition to her sweater winning the contest, there was a silent auction to benefit the Helping Hands Foundation.
Everyone was asked to donate a pair of mittens or gloves for the auction. Margaret’s gloves received the highest bid and also won the Peoples Choice Award.
This is Margaret (left) with the buyer, Bobbie, of the winning gloves.
The Elegant Ewe provided a space for Margaret to sign books. While they
had most of Margaret’s books on hand, the biggest sellers were Plus
Size Crochet (sold out),
and Knits for Men.
