With St. Patrick's Day less than a week away I was in the mood for a bit of green crafting and I got a bit of help with:
Design Parts Sourcebook: Romantic
A Collection of Images for Artists and Designers
By
MdN Designs
This book is a useful and inspirational collection of romantically inspired images to use, modify, and customize for your own art and design projects. The book provides a printed catalog of all the images and the companion CD-ROM provides all the image files in both JPEG and PNG data files for Photoshop and MS Word users. A beautiful collection, this book is a fantastic resource for a wide range of visual artists including art journalers, scrapbookers, cardmakers, collage artists, graphic designers, and fine artists.
MdN Design is the designers’ section of MdN Corporation, Inc., which was established in 1989 and has published magazines and books on graphic design, web design, DTP, art and printing in Japan.
My "J" ATC is getting it's graphics from this awesome book. This great collage of clover:
Feel free to download it to make your own ATC or art of any kind!
Jade is green and so are clover, I am in a green mood with St. Patrick's day fast approaching.
So I am going with the word "Jaded" and the green clover as my image.
I tinted my photo first to green in Photoshop by selecting Image, Adjustments, Hue/Saturation and slid the top slider "Hue" over to make the whole photo have a green tint.
I then opened the clover graphic and using the magic wand tool selected only the green part, copied and then pasted into my photo file. I then repeated this moving it around and rotating it.
I then printed it out and stamped the word "Jaded" and embossed with some green glitter embossing powder.
I then went out to my clover patch in my back yard that mother nature has seen fit to provide and photographed it for your viewing pleasure!
I really am enjoying combining a bit of my graphics knowledge, with these cool graphics that come on the CD with

and making little bits of art that also incorporate photos of events in my life. Incidentally these are the bagpipes that opened the Winter CHA show in Anaheim. They were amazing!
Well, on to today's question:

As my thanks for sharing you will be entered to win a free book!

I like to use Google Images if I'm in need of inspiration. I sketch or print out whatever appeals to me and then recreate it with paper filigree, using plenty of artistic license.

I have been using a lot of scrapbook papers for images and cut bits of those to stick to my art pieces. But this CD sounds great.

I collect Photoshop brushes like crazy! I also buy clip art books that come with a CD - this one is right up my alley!

I like Dover for clipart as well as the many free scrapbooking sites. I tend to modify photos I have taken to avoid copyright issues. This CD sounds like a real gem.
