Sculpting Mythical Creatures out of Polymer Clay
Make a Gnome, Pixie, Halfling, Fairy, Mermaid, Gorgon, Vampire, Griffin, Sphinx, Unicorn, Centaur, Leviathan, and Dragon!
By
Dinko Tilov, Boris Tilov
Starting with simpler characters, and moving toward more complex ones, talented brothers and internationally known clay sculpting experts Dinko and Boris Tilov show readers step-by-step how to build mythological figures from polymer clay. Each project is built by combining basic clay shapes and using simple tools that can be found around the house. Detailed step-by-step photography lead readers of any skill level through thirteen characters, each accompanied by clever variations.
Dinko Tilov has been creating amazing 3-5 inch figurines using polymer clay and mixed media ever since he was a child. He has done commissioned work for private collections and his unique characters have been featured on polymer clay websites, in newsletters, galleries, and on a calendar. He has lived in studied in Bulgaria (where he is from), France and the United States, where he is currently in his senior year of college. Much of his prolific work can be viewed at his web-site: mythcritters.com.
Co-author, Boris Tilov, has been working with polymer clay since his early teenage years. He has lived and studied in his native Bulgaria and the United States.

These critters are so cute. The best part of spring for me is al the emerging flowers. I want to take lots of pictures this spring and make a altered book using the photos.

Oh, my GAWD, those are the cutest things I've ever seen. I have a niece that is very into the polymer clay action (I have no such talent), AND mythical creatures (particularly dragons), so I think this calls for a "just because" giftie!

That is the best book. I love, love those little creatures. I have a sister right into mythical creatures and this would be ideal for her.
I am not heading to Spring but I have just made my friends (we walk and have coffee 3x a week)a coffee cup wash cloth and gave it to them for Easter at our monthly craft evening.

Too cute! For spring I just finished a collaborative swap of Spring themed pages, and am still thinking about working on some decorations for the house for the weekend (a day off on Friday means crafty joy for me!)
