Carla Sonheim author of Drawing Lab for Mixed-Media Artists will be doing an Etsy Workshop at their Brooklyn Headquarters on February 28 at the Etsy labs. It's called:
"Picasso Dogs and One-Liner Elephants"
Would you like to learn to draw, but don't know where to start? Then take a 15-minute mini-drawing workshop with Carla, designed to put the "fun" back into drawing! It includes a series of non-threatening exercises including wrong-handed portraits, one-line drawings, and more. You'll finish the drawing session creating a one-liner elephant and Picasso Dog, and spend the rest of your evening adding even more personality to your creations by adding color. Carla will demo a multi-layered approach using materials you most likely already have at home: a pencil, a Sharpie, a few colored pencils and cheap markers. Drawing is fun! Come and see!
When: Monday, February 28, 2011 - Drop in anytime from 4-8pm
Where: 55 Washington St, Suite 712, Brooklyn, New York
What: “Picasso Dogs and One-Liner Elephants”
Can’t make it to New York? Carla will also be hosting an online demo the same day at 3:30 EST via Etsy’s Livestream channel! For info on that, go here: http://community.etsy.com/
I had the pleasure of meeting Carla at CHA Winter 2011. She graciously told me a bit about her inspiration for her book Drawing Lab for Mixed-Media Artists. Check it out:
