I have a super easy and quick jewelry making project for you today. I am a big fan of big wide bracelets, and to achieve this effect is oftentimes as simple as taking a long chain, or, as in this case, some super cool Cynthia Rowley grommet trim (from Simplicity) and wrapping it several times around your wrist to get this wide cuff effect.
To make the trim cuff, score yourself some trim and a buckle. Pretty easy so far, right?
In this case, I simply cut a buckle off of an old belt or watch, not sure what this was but I have a habit of saving buckles from things I no longer want or use like this. Buckles happen to be great findings that are sometimes a bit hard to find, so I save them.
I used about 30 inches of the grommet trim, but you can use as much or as little as you like. I didn't even secure the buckle; I just put the trim through with each end going in opposite directions and the "pin" part of the buckle inserted into a grommet.
If you are like me and like making things with buckles and trim or like making belts, I bet you will love this book:

Thrift shop belts often have really useful components for jewelry as well. Beads, links, mother of pearl, leather or metal components, all are useful. I teach small children crafts and the belt components make pendants, bracelets, hair bobbles or whatever their imagination can come up with.
