While the "O" is meant to stand for Obama, the news touted Ohio as the state that made this election. I thought it would be fun to share this poster from the book Hope: A Collection of Obama Posters and Prints.
This poster is one of the many awesome art posters featured in the Zenith Press book:

collection to be treasured by everyone who was inspired and mobilized
by the Obama campaign.

· A Catalog of Posters and Prints with background information on each featured piece
·
The social and political context of the Obama poster movement and its
place in the history of American presidential campaign art
· Foreword by Ray Noland, the street artist credited with starting the nationwide guerrilla poster movement in support of Obama
· The interior of the dust jacket folds out into a full-color reproduction of artist David Choe’s Hope poster
Hal
Elliott Wert has been a professor at the Kansas City Art Institute
since 1972. He has authored a number of publications, book reviews, and
papers on a range of subjects. He has spoken at numerous art galleries
and has written many articles on presidential politics and campaign
posters, including a feature on the Obama poster movement for Review
magazine. His traveling exhibition, featuring many signed-and-numbered,
limited-edition posters included in this book, was done in partnership
with the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
I think it's fun to make new art in styles of the past or combine different looks into a whole new genre. Try it! I bet you come up with something fabulous.
